General description:

 

Aim: Any research that will strengthen the evidence base around public health interventions, and thereby lead to more effective public health interventions in humanitarian crises.

Proposals under the call could fund research that addresses:

* Public health priorities specific to the context of a humanitarian crisis that lacks a solid existing evidence base.

* How public health interventions not specific to a humanitarian context can be adapted and delivered in a humanitarian context.

* Health system, including coordination of the public health response in humanitarian contexts.

* Specific interventions designed to improve health outcomes, such as transfers.

Funding: There is no ceiling on the amount that can be requested. Up to £3M of research funding is available for this call. The number of grants and the total amount will depend on the quality of proposals received. (Overhead up to 10%) Duration 24-36 months.

Applicants must have a research team including both a research institution and an operational humanitarian organization.

Please note: The lead applicant may not be from "for- profit organization" – but can be a part of the research team.
